The Story of the Burning Couch

Back in the '70"s there was a small university in Morgantown, WV.. The town had a problem with trash pickup for a little while and so college students being inventive and started buring the trash after a winning football game.  Well.... before you knew it, porch furniture was being torched at after parties, the most popular source of fuel being an old couch. I have witnessed such events at WVU back in the day.

Soon, the tradition had spread as far North as Michigan State University and South to the University of Kentucky.  Today in some towns this is considered arson, and we do not encourage torching furniture in a celebratory fashion.  So we thought-why not bring back the "Burning Couch Candle" and help keep the tradition alive while promoting safe burning!  We made a latex mold out of a toy couch and started experimenting with the art of wax chandling to create our handpoured unique creations.  We hope you love them as much as we do and enjoy supporting your favorite college team!!

Keep the Tradition of College Couch Burnings Alive!
